  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Remove excess grease if necessary.
  • Add the diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Pour in the crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes to blend flavors.
  • Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Let it cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce becomes creamy and smooth.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.
