Ingredients
Scale
- 4–5 fresh or dried fig leaves
- 4 cups water
- 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the fig leaves thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris.
- In a medium pot, bring 4 cups of water to a gentle boil.
- Add the fig leaves and reduce the heat to low.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes to allow the leaves to release their flavor.
- Strain the tea into cups and discard the leaves.
- Sweeten with honey or maple syrup if desired, and add a splash of lemon juice for a refreshing twist.
- Enjoy warm or chilled over ice!
Notes
- For a stronger flavor, let the tea steep for an additional 5 minutes.
- Dried fig leaves tend to have a more intense aroma compared to fresh ones.
- Pairs well with a splash of coconut milk for a creamy texture.
