Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ lbs skirt steak
- ¼ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for spice)
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, soy sauce, lime juice, honey, minced garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes.
- Marinate the Steak: Place the skirt steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).
- Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat (about 450°F). Lightly oil the grates.
- Grill the Steak: Remove the steak from the marinade and shake off any excess. Grill for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare or longer for desired doneness.
- Rest and Slice: Let the steak rest for 5 minutes, then slice against the grain for the most tender bites.
- Serve: Enjoy with grilled vegetables, in tacos, or with a fresh salad!
Notes
- For extra tenderness, let the steak marinate overnight.
- Slice against the grain to ensure a juicy, tender bite.
- Serve with chimichurri sauce for an extra flavor boost!
